Fort Kochi has a Portuguese touch to it being under its influence in the past, through trade. This town was considered as one of the most important trading centres. Fort Kochi was shaped by the Portuguese and since then has undergone changes to suit the needs of the Dutch when they defeated the Portuguese in the seventeenth century, as well as the British who took over in the late eighteenth century. These influences on Fort Kochi make it a place of valued historical impact. We have two days to explore this heritage city.

Thattekkad when translated means ‘flat forest’ and is regarded as one of the best spots for birding in Kerala. This may be well because of the famous Salim Ali bird sanctuary. This bird sanctuary was named after the renowned ornithologist and is one of the most important bird sanctuaries in India. You have two days to explore the rainforests on cycling and by foot.
