Overview
The Triund trek can be taken up at any time throughout the year. The track goes a little shabby and muddy during monsoons. Snowfall during winter also makes the road less suitable for the trek. Best time for experiencing Triund is between March to June and then again from October to the beginning of December. The route remains closed for few weeks of December and January due to heavy snowfall.
The trekking trail passes through the foothills of Himalayas and we come across several Gaddi Tribal villages entoure. Gaddi is a semi nomadic shepherd tribe whose main accupation is rearing of sheep and goats. Gaddis keep on migrating with the big heard of their sheep and goats from Plains to mountains during summer and mountains to plains during winter time. Every night we camp close to a small village by the side of a river with last night at the base of Dhauladhar Mountains from where we have superb close view of the snow covered peaks of Himalayas.

Day 1 Arrival Dharamshala
Assistance upon arrival at Dharamshala airport or railway station followed by transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2Dharamshala (McLeod-Ganj) / Boh / Kanol (1500 M)
02 Hrs Drive, 05 Hours Walk approx.
After breakfast at Hotel, we drive down in the valley for 2 hours to reach Boh Village, the starting point of the trek. From Boh village it is steep ascent for two hours to reach Batuni, a small Gaddi tribal village. From Batuni we continue the walk on a steep uphill for an hour to reach Lingru Nag where we stop for lunch. From Lingru Nag you have beautiful view of the valley on both sides. After Lunch it is downhill walk for another two hours to reach Kanol Village. Camp outside the village for an overnight stay in tents.

Day 3Kanol / Canderela (2300 M)
Distance 10 km. 04 Hours walk approx.
After breakfast you start walking. It is steep ascent alongside Khauli stream to the higher meadows.

Day 4Canderela / Kareri Lake (3000 M)
Distance 08 km. 03-04 Hours walk approx.
This short state is included in order to get acclimatized to the steep increase in altitude. Camp by the side of Kareri Lake. The lake is not very special but the view around is wonderful. The lake keeps religious singnificance for the local people of the area and they come here for pilgrimage during summer months.

Day 5Kareri Lake / Kareri Village (1900 M)
Distance 11 km. 05 Hours walk approx.
It is downhill walk from Kareri Lake to Kareri village. Camp here by the side of the village.
After breakfast we start walking. It is uphill walk for three hours to reach Galu from where we descend down to the other side to reach Kareri village where we camp outside the village near a small stream.

Day 6Kareri Village / Bahl Village (2000 M)
Distance 13 km. 05-06 hrs. Walk.
After breakfast. First two hours is a gradual walk with little up and downhill walk and we get to Rawa village, situated on the bank of Rawa River. We come across several tribal villages on the way. From Rawa it is steep ascent through the forest for about two hours to Bahl village.
Camp near a small stream next to the village. The area is full of Himalayan birds and those interested in bird watching can go for the same around the camp.

Day 7Bahl / Triund
Distance 10 km. 04-05 hrs. Walk.
Today day we leave all the villages behind and go up in the mountain where there is no human habitation. It is steep ascent through mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and cedar trees to Triund, an alpine meadow situated atop a ridge. Camp here for overnight stay. From Triund you have superb view of the snow-clad Dhauladhar Mountain on one side and the valley on the other. Triund gets very crowded on weekends as lots of Indian tourists come up here for the night stay.

Day 8Triund / Bhagsu Nag Village / Dharamshala Departure
Triund / Bhagsu Nag Village - 09 km. 04 hrs. Walk approx.
Bhagsu Nag Village / Dharamshala – 20-30 Minutes' drive
After breakfast. It is downhill walk for 4 hours to Bhagsu Nag. We end up our trek near Bhagsu waterfall. Unpack your lunch near the waterfall. After lunch walk to the nearest road-head at Bhagsu Village. Transfer to Hotel in McLeod Ganj. (10 minutes' drive).
Later in time you will be provided assisted departure transfer to Dharamshala airport or Daulatpur Chowk Railway station for your onwards journey.

C. Balance 50% payment should be remitted 15 days prior to starting of the trip.

Cancellation: - Cancellation charges are applicable according to the following slabs.
A. If the tour is cancelled between 30 days and 16 days before date of travel, 50% of the Total tour cost (for land arrangement services only)
B. If the tour is cancelled within 15 days before the date of arrival, no refund at all.
